Javascript Meetup + a little bit of iOS :)
Details
All of you have probably heard about the React™ library, created by Facebook. And if you haven't yet - stop reading this and go to http://facebook.github.io/react/ . Recently, Facebook introduced React Native - an attempt to bring Javascript and React's programming model to the world of IOS/Android development. Nick is going to tell us, what React Native is all about and show how easy and entertaining it is to create apps using it.
But, while playing with "new interesting technologies" you shouldn't forget about the fact, that creating software is a serious business and code quality does really matter. One of the must-have practices of maintaining code in good shape is TDD. And applying TDD to your current workflow is kind of a difficult problem sometimes. So Yevhen will guide you through the testing tools and practices, that will help you adopt TDD in your day-to-day job.
Abstract: Creating an app with React Native
We’ll create an awesome native application for iOS using React Native. And after that, we’ll talk about its pros and cons, compare it to other solutions for creating mobile apps using web technologies.
Speaker: Nick Gladkiy, WebDeveloper & TeamLeader at Wix
Abstract: This talk is about using test-driven development (TDD) for writing JavaScript code on front end. We'll talk a little about unit testing in general, get acquainted with tools we use for unit testing, and then I'll show you some practical examples of writing JavaScript code using TDD.
