Lightning Talks Evening

Details

What we’ll do:

In 2018 we held a number of workshops to give more women the skills to encourage them into public speaking, with the aim of ensuring representative speakers at local tech events. Female representation as speakers in tech events was excellent in 2018 - and we are keen to provide another event that will help female speakers practice their talks - in advance of 2019 tech events - OR just to give it a whirl anyway!

We ran a similar Lightning Talks event in November 2018 in collaboration with Women Who Code and it was a great success - we had a real range of speakers and topics - delivered to a very warm room of listeners- a supportive, women-dominated, techie audience.

So, once again we looking for new and beginner speakers to present 5-15 minute lightening talks.

These talks can be about anything related in some way to tech; you do not need to be a coder; you do not have attended the workshops or any WIT event previously; you do not need to take questions at the end of the presentation if you don’t want to; you can be at any level in industry (and we welcome a mix!); the presentation can be in whatever format, and as (in)formal as you like.

Nominate yourself to speak at the event here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1_F4l6AD6DPUub6-8QhpmSix6k8Vkmc422DnUZdthKHk/edit
