As a Rails Developer, we live and die by Active Record wizardry. It is so much of a black box, that while learning the language, I didn’t even try to question its magic. But what world a word look like if you couldn't rely on Rails' built in Active Record validation for your models? In this talk, I will be talking about a concept called domain models, and how at Stitch Fix we were able to have more confidence in our micro service architecture through strict custom rules we set for our data.
