"Nurturing each other through friendships, knowledge, service and community."
Women over 60! Let's join forces and become a force to be reckoned with! Together we can support each other while doing some good in our communities. Let's make our lives count.
The day after I retired, I went to the grocery store and saw a young woman with a baby in her arms reach for a carton of milk. I reached out to help her, and she turned to her companion and said, "Isn't she cute?" I am not cute. The day before I was a force to be reckoned with, and I hope you'll join me in my effort to harness our collective wit and wisdom so we all remain forces to be reckoned with.
To quote the musical Spamalot, "He's (She's) not dead yet."
I would like to create a group of friends and neighbors who help one another as we transition from “almost old” to “old.” Who teach one another and share our strengths. We would continue to learn and grow. A group of ladies who are thankful for what they have and want to give back. We would volunteer our collective wit and wisdom and share it with our community. We will join forces and help each other so we remain independent. I help you, and you help me. Companions, helpers, a community of sage, older women. Crones vs cute, if you will, who take care of each other and give back. It's pretty simple.
I have no “ownership” of this group. I have no plans beyond getting started, but I do have an agenda and that is to give the rest of my life meaning. I don't know what that looks like, but I do know this, I may be old, but I still have a lot offer. If you are like minded, contact this group and let’s gather and plan. I don’t want to be a cute, little old lady. I want to continue to be a force to be reckoned with. I hope you’ll join me.
