National Coding Week: Introduction to Machine Learning at BT

Details
National Coding Week (https://codingweek.org/?edition=GB) takes place on the 18th September and as part of it WWC Belfast are hosting an 'Introduction to Machine Learning' interactive workshop. The workshop will be a combination of slides and practical exercises and is aimed at beginners with no prior experience assumed. Nearer to the date a VM will be provided with instructions so no complex setup is required.
Machine learning is the science of getting computers to act without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning is part of our daily lives and is used to provide effective web search, fraud detection and speech recognition to give just a few examples.
Kelly Moore will be hosting. Kelly is a software engineer at Kainos and was one of the people who ran their AI camp. She has also pitched to speak at SXSW about 'Demystifying Machine Learning' (head across and vote (http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/75179) for her) so there is no better person for the job.
A big thanks to BT for providing us with a great space in which to hold the event.
