"She Rocks!" Awards - WWCode Belfast in conjunction with Puppet

Details

(Dress code is smart-casual or Christmas Jumpers! )

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And here at WWCode Belfast and Puppet, we thought it would be a great chance to get together, have some food, drinks, catch-ups, and a 2017 Women Who Code Belfast Awards Ceremony!!!!

So what are the WWCode Belfast "She Rocks" awards? They're a chance to recognise someone awesome you know within the Belfast community. Please note, awards can only be won by those who identify as female, but anyone can nominate an awesome female!

This is simply about recognising some of the great work being done by women in our code communities - which is where you come in! Does your nominee fit into any of these categories...?

• Community star
This award is for females who have promoted the tech industry and assisted others beyond our immediate tech community. This includes promoting their discipline, their company or their tech abilities to the wider NI community. They are the helping guides, signposting and steering people towards realising previously unknown tech ambitions and potential. This is a star who shines across even a dark sky!

• Leadership star
Not all heroes wear capes! This award is for those females among us who have become great mentors to us. Sometimes a leader rises without a professional title and so we'd like to celebrate both our professional leaders and those who have helped carve the way ahead through their professional role for all the females who are here now and who will come after us. We salute you!

• Advocate youth star
Youth outreach is super important to us. We would like to show our appreciation by recognising those creative, patient and inspiring women who offer their time to act as ambassadors to the younger in society and who are dedicated to ensuring our tech community thrives for the generations to come.

• Advocate diversity star
We've come a long way on diversity and we have a long way to go. This award encapsulates the very Spirit of WWCode Belfast and recognises the often brave and always ready women who are working actively to promote greater diversity in our work places. Advocates With Integrity, you are our champions and we recognise and thank you.

• Rising tech star
This award stands for all those women who have recently started their journey in the tech community. Whether by cosmic accident, curious conversion or by following their own star, they are now staying on target and following their Masterplan. For those who spoke up, stood up, faced their fears and shared their journey so far, we see you, you have something to bring to us and we support you in all you do.

THE NOMINEES ARE AS FOLLOWS! Here are the nominees for each category of the awards....

Rising Tech Star: Clare McKeever, Hannah McKee, Jennifer Henratty, Kelly Moore, Laura Soutar, Mary-Jane McBride, Rachael Coulter.
