This is just like an old fashioned hack night but with a twist! For the first 45 minutes, we're going to give members the opportunity to give short talks about anything. Yep, you heard it: speak about anything at all! We want to give members opportunities to practice their speaking skills and we'd like to invite attendees to talk about any topic they want. The talk doesn't have to be technical and the only requirement is that others should be able to learn something from it!
Following the lightning talks, we'll go back to regular hack night programming. Bring any projects you're working on or homework you have to do. Work on a code challenge from one of the many code challenge websites (codeeval, exercism.io, hackerank, etc.). Write a blog post, or just catch up on work or emails.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
6 - 6.30pm: Registration + Mingle
6.30 - 7.15pm: Lightning Talks
7.15 - 9pm: Hacking
If you'd like to give a lightning talk, send an email to [masked] with the subject "Lightning Talks 4/28" and we'll put you on the agenda! If you'd like to speak but don't have a topic in mind, let us know and we can help you brainstorm. The talks will be short so shouldn't require a lot of preparation.
Food & Drink will be provided. Looking forward to seeing you there!
