Georgia will talk about the inspirational grass roots movement that drove her & co-founders to create Tumelo after leaving university. She'll talk about Tumelo, their impact investing & shareholder action app, and about what it's been like building a team & starting up a social venture in their new found home of Bristol.
Ben will do an introductory talk on Golang and why and how they are using it at Tumelo.
Speaker's bio
Georgia is passionate about climate change and conservation and believes that positive investment coupled with shareholder engagement is the best way to affect global change. During her Cambridge degree, she sat on the Positive Investment Committee, tasked with improving the way Cambridge invested its £6bn endowment. She’s worked for multiple ‘green’ investment houses, such as Jupiter and on the Natural Capital Coalition for conservation agency, Fauna & Flora International. Georgia is now Co-Founder of Tumelo, an impact investment app designed to facilitate transparency, connectivity and influence for retail investors, bringing them closer to the companies they own as shareholders.
