Exploring Big Data with Oracle Cloud

Why cloud is a buzz word and every enterprise is looking to make a move to the cloud? Join us where we are going to take you through the cloud world, concepts, different service models, complex functionalities and features. We are going to introduce you to the Oracle Cloud and the facts that make it the most integrated cloud vendor in the market today. We will also walk you through the Oracle Cloud Services specifically in Data Science and Big Data suite, with two demo presentations.

• Demo 1: Real time Dock status and location for CitiBike Dataset:
  Are you a biker who would like to pick up or drop off the NY bikes while riding down the roads? Now you can! We will be leveraging Oracle Cloud Services such as Event Hub and Big Data Cloud to show the top pick up and drop off dock locations for certain times of day on a Live Map. We will demonstrate how you can utilize the out-of-box integrated features such as Zeppelin, Spark and Hive capabilities of the platform to run scripts on the Big Data Cloud.

• Demo 2: Intelligent Asset Maintenance:
  Leveraging Oracle Big Data Cloud Platform to develop Machine Learning Model to determine the likelihood of HVAC system failures for a portfolio company and undertake proactive business decisions to mitigate the incurred heavy maintenance and repair costs due to system damages. You will learn how to utilize the sensor data in Data Lake to build the Predictive Analytical model, create workflow in Zeppelin Notebooks, out-of-box integrated with Oracle Big Data Cloud, and Visualize the data using Oracle Data Visualization.

Presenter 1 - Sravya Ganugapati:

Sravya is a Solution Engineer at Oracle, focusing on Big Data, Machine Learning and Data Science helping customers build effective cloud solutions to solve their business challenges. She has Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Bachelors in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University, India. Sravya believes in continuous learning and passionate about solving new challenges and helping businesses succeed.

Presenter 2 - Stuti Deshpande:

A Tech Enthusiast with a blend of Classic Artistry, Stuti Deshpande comes from a developer background. She recently pursued her Masters in Computer Science from George Mason University in Virginia and now, she loves to contribute to Information Management and Big Data Team as a Solution Engineer at Oracle Cloud Solution Hub, Virginia. Stuti has an everlasting passion about latest technologies and so, she likes to explore next big technology and solutions related to Big Data, AI/ML and Data Science in general. She believes that Data is the new science and Big data holds the answer. She enjoys Classical Music, Classical Dance and in her leisure time, she likes to travel to new places.
