Overview
Want to get your hands on some data and learn how to create, read, update, and delete? Join Claire for the low down on understanding basic principles of databases and participate in a workshop where you'll actually get to test what you're learning.
We'll start off with some exercises where you will learn how to normalize data (it's way easier than you think!). After that, we'll dive into the code where we will create our own databases, populate them, and even pull specific reports from the data.
If you've ever been curious about what goes on behind the scenes in someone's database, or just want to get a feel for working with SQL, join us!
About the Speaker
Claire is a full stack developer who currently works at Alkami Technologies in Plano, TX. While she now works end to end in development, her one true love is database design.
Claire fell in love with databases while attending college in the Oklahoma Panhandle. She was lucky enough to have a Dean who shared this love. Because of this, Claire was able to take 3 classes and a Senior Seminar in Database Design. Claire has since used her learnings at various jobs in the past 7 years, and still loves to get her hands on the data.
