Talk 1 - Blockchain 101

Niamh Twomey - She joined the product team in TradeIX in June 2018 - TradeIX is a technology platform and network provider, who together with leading global banks has developed the Marco Polo Network, a blockchain enabled network of banks, corporates and other eco-system providers. The Marco Polo Network is the world's fastest growing working capital and trade finance network leveraging Corda Blockchain. Prior to this she was working as a Product Owner for a Dublin based Technology Consultancy, focusing on large scale Digital Ecosystem Management Platforms, with a background in Business Information Systems.

Oisín Kyne - Full Stack Engineer

Oisín is a UCD Computer Science graduate hailing from Co. Mayo in Ireland. Oisín grew up in a family owned Computer Training and Web Design Company, becoming a certified web designer by 12 years of age. Oisín has previously worked as a Software Architect and in Technology Consulting for Accenture. Oisín has also worked on setting up Accenture’s centre for innovation known as The Dock, has worked for UCD’s Innovation Academy. Oisín previously ran Robotics Workshops for corporate clients and STEM focused summer camps for kids as part of Colmac Robotics.

Rachel O'Brien - Full Stack Engineer

Rachel joined ConsenSys Dublin in August 2018 as a Full Stack Engineer. Rachel previously worked as a Software Developer in Facebook, focused on abuse mitigation through Haskell. Prior to that, Rachel worked for IBM Watson Health as a Software Engineer on a large healthcare product.

Danica Shen - Frontend Engineer

Danica is a Frontend Engineer within the ConsenSys Dublin Blockchain Innovation Studio. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science in UCD and after that she worked in Accenture Innovation Centre, the Dock as a front end engineer and a part-time designer. She has experience in building large scale of POC and MVP applications integrated with AI/IoT and she’s strongly interested in mobile development and data visualization. Her stack are Javascript, ReactJs, PreactJs, VueJs, D3 and a bunch of testing technologies. Twitter: @Danica_Shen4486

Shane T Odlum - Backend Engineer

Shane T is a Backend Engineer within the ConsenSys Dublin Blockchain Innovation Studio after recently joining in January 2019. Before Consensys he worked in Accenture’s Dublin Innovation Centre, The Dock, and prior to that has worked with startups in the gaming and entertainment industry. His software development skiills of late are largely around the MERN stack, data processing pipelines with python, Docker. He has a developing interest in cryptosystems and distributed / decentralised architectures such as IPFS, Secure Scuttlebutt and ActivityPub.
