Women Who Code L.A. is pleased to be a community sponsor of the first PyData in Los Angeles!

PyData LA 2018 is a 3-day conference driven by community volunteers from the Greater Los Angeles area data community. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.

One of PyData's goals is to increase awareness and excitement around opportunities for underrepresented groups in software engineering and data analytics. To increase diversity in scientific computing, our outreach program ranges from hosting workshops that introduce programming to young women to encouraging diversity in speakers at PyData.

PyData LA is offering scholarship opportunities to those from underrepresented groups who may otherwise be unable to attend the conference. Apply for a diversity scholarship here by Sept 30:
