CAREER TALK - Kristina Jarosova

Kristina will give a talk on how she joined the Finance and IT industry, the opportunities and challenges while working in that field and why it's important to have more women working in Finance and IT.

For someone working as an IT consultant, Kristina's educational background is rather unorthodox – she is law graduate. After originally joining Excelian’s contracts & legal team five years ago, she found out about their graduate program and it didn’t take her long to decide that she wanted to be a part of it. After a written test and a couple of interviews she got the spot and that’s how her journey as a Murex consultant started. Her area of expertise is Front office and her job covers a few different aspects. For example, she deals with banks’ front office users and make their work easier by implementing Murex's trading platform to meet their trading requirements, fixing any issues that might occur during the day in the production environment as well as working on ongoing projects to keep the system always in line with the latest regulatory changes or bank’s trading requirements.

Ruksana will give a talk on her career in the Finance and IT industry, more specifically on her current role as QA Manager.

Ruksana s a passionate IT Consultant for a Financial Services IT consultancy: working on a migration project for an investment banking client as a QA Manager. She has been working in IT for almost 5 years for a number of tier 1 investment banks, has a degree in Computer Science and has excelled by combining her technical and business knowledge. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading and pilates exercise classes.

TECH TALK - What is Cassandra by Alberto Faedda

After graduating from University of Cagliari in Computer Science, Alberto moved to Rome to start his career as IT Consultant/Software Developer helping his clients build successful applications. Alberto moved to London about 5 years ago and is now a Senior IT Consultant for Excelian and an expert Java Developer with interests in Big Data storage and analysis. He is certified as Apache Cassandra Developer/Administrator with 2 years of experience in data modelling and analysis.
