Interview Prep: Formulas for Technical Solutions and Priority Queues with Heaps
Details
Preparing for technical interviews? Join us to learn more about two topics that will help you land that next job!
== Formulas for Technical Solutions ==
We spend hours going through Leetcode or HackerRank questions writing code, optimizing, and picking through edge cases in our solutions to sharpen our skills breaking down and solving technical problems. However, solving technical problems isn't just about writing code. Effective communication is key to showing your knowledge of your solution and displaying how well you will work with others on the job. In this lighting talk, we will go through a set of steps to boost your communication skills in a technical interview.
== Implementing Priority Queues with Heaps ==
When we think of priority queues, we often think of a linear list structure where the high priority item is at one end and the low priority item is at the other. Unfortunately, operations on this type of structure are not optimal and this isn't how most languages implement priority queues. In this talk, we'll go over what heaps are and how they are used to implement priority queues.
