Fun with SVGs and CSS Animations

Details

We've witnessed the power and impact that animations with the right approach can have on the experience of a website or application. Join us for a uniquely collaborative workshop where both a designer and a developer shows you how their combined efforts can create effective animation patterns! You'll not only learn to create SVG files optimized for the web, but apply CSS animations to bring them to life on any screen. In the spirit of working together, both designer and developer will demonstrate how they can enhance and better the use of animations on the web.

This workshop is intended for beginner to intermediate developers and designers alike! We're here to round out all your design and dev muscles.

Check out some primers on CSS here on codecademy (https://www.codecademy.com/courses/css-coding-with-style) if you're eager to get started.

Please bring your own laptops with a trial or licensed version of Adobe Illustrator (http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator). We highly recommend that you also have a text editor of your preference installed. We will message you closer to the event on any workshop materials (a repo and/or slides) for those who are signed up and curious.

Stella Kim is a full stack developer, using Rails and various JS frameworks at work and side projects. She's a continual learner with sometimes too much curiosity for her own good. Recently, she's been exploring 3D printing, IoT, and getting deep into coding with Rails at Shopify (http://www.shopify.com).
