Lauren Douglas - Agile Coach, Paddle

I will share with you one of the most under rated tools you should be using to accelerate your career - mentorship. I will cover how to find a mentor in order to help you to achieve your goals; and once you have a mentor how do you get the most from it.

Alex Dresco - Software Engineer, Ravelin

I graduated from a bootcamp taught mostly in Ruby, which included a JavaScript module. My first job as a software engineer was in Java and Vue.js and my current job is in Golang.

I'll talk about why coders switch languages, how to pick a new (or first!) language to learn, some of the patterns across languages and finally the best practices for learning a new language.

Judy Kelly - Senior Product Security Engineer, Red Hat

Threat Modeling can improve the built-in security posture of a system by theorizing spotted threats and their adequate mitigations, as well as increasing user confidence in that security posture. When performed correctly, it can provide a clear line of sight across a software project, helping to justify security efforts.

Before moving into tech, Judy Kelly spent 20 years in financial services. Taking redundancy in 2012, Judy spent time as a stay-at-home parent before embarking on a career change. During her studies on a four-year degree in Computer Forensics and Security at the Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland, in 2019 Judy took an internship within Red Hat. This led to Judy becoming Red Hat’s first Threat Modeler, where she is now responsible for Threat Modeling processes within Product Security Secure Development team.
