What we're about

Inspired by other Women Who Like Beer groups (in Melbourne, Tokyo, Split, and Porto), this is a social group for - you guessed it - women who like beer!

When traveling, I really missed my female friends and loved being able to catch up and make new friends in a relaxed setting - all the while drinking delicious beer. Now living in NYC, I thought it would be fun to start up a local group that meets fortnightly in different craft beer venues all over the city.

WWLB NYC By-Laws

• RSVPs: All events are first-come, first-serve. Please only RSVP to events that you can attend.

• Cancellations: If you can no longer make an event, simply change your RSVP - no need to explain to either of us. If you need to cancel past the RSVP end time, please DM us ASAP so that we can make any necessary adjustments (e.g., reservations).

• Tardiness: If you’re running late, let us know ASAP so that we can do our best to include you. Alternatively, if you are joining us at a later point (e.g., crawls): please DM us before the event so that we can plan to include you. (For multi-stop events, the RSVP # will be set for any pre-reservation venues.)

• Waitlist: Meetup (not us) automatically moves the next waitlisted member to “Going” anytime an already “Going” member changes their RSVP to “Not going.” If you are waitlisted, please periodically check the event to see if you’ve been moved to the “Going” list up until the event’s RSVP end time. Alternatively, remove yourself from the waitlist if you no longer can attend.

• Event comms: Meetup autogenerates at least 2 emails for an event after we announce it - 6 days beforehand and 1 day before to those ladies saying “Going." To not heavily inundate you all, we will communicate via email when needed. (With that said, please have your email notifications enabled for this group. Any missed emails will be on you.)

The bad news. What would warrant a removal and/or ban from the group? (Please don't do these things.)

After one time:

• No-showing to any strict count event without any appropriate notice

• Showing up to any event that you were not able to get into - notice or none

• Bringing any guests to any event when they are not allowed

After more than twice:

• Canceling last minute AFTER the RSVP end time to a strict count event without any appropriate notice

Additionally:

• Serially RSVPing yes and canceling after the fact for any strict count events (case-by-case basis)

• Messaging either of us for special treatment to get on the “Going” list for strict count events

• Not being an awesome team player and making other ladies unnecessarily uncomfortable for no warranted reason

Bottoms Up: Home Sweet d.b.a.

d.b.a.

We're (still) back at d.b.a.; in fact, we'll be back here on a monthly basis as long as the world allows us to!

Bring your thirst, bring your dogs! (Yes, dogs of all kinds are allowed!) Will Brian grace us with another wonderful tasting? Come on down to find out!

Some notes:
• RSVP: If you need to cancel, please change your RSVP so that another wonderful lady can join and we give our friends at d.b.a. an accurate headcount as much as possible.

• BRING YOUR DOGS!

To the Source: River Outpost Brewing Company & Peekskill Brewery

Grand Central Terminal

Now that WWLB is 2, we're taking her out for her first field trip out of the boroughs! While we are in the heart of autumn, why not we do a little leaf peepin' & brewski drinkin' in Hudson Valley? First stop, Peekskill!

Breweries on deck:
• River Outpost Brewing Company: https://riveroutpostbrewing.com/
• Peekskill Brewery: https://www.peekskillbrewery.com/

How exactly are we going to pull this off?
• Trains: We will meet at Grand Central Terminal (GCT) around 09:00 and will be taking the 09:25 Hudson line train with an ETA of 10:32 at Peekskill. (Dee will need to take either the 2:35p or 3:33p train back to GCT, so feel free to leave with her then or stick around longer if you can.)

• Tickets: If you buy your tickets beforehand at the station or via eTix, they are $13.25 (off peak) one-way or $26.50 (off peak) roundtrip. Alternatively, you can pay on board for $19.00 each way.

• Leaf peepin': We will be walking along the Peekskill RiverWalk, starting from Peekskill Landing Park all the way down to our first brewery, River Outpost Brewing, at approximately 12:30! Then we'll mosey into town towards Peekskill Brewery.

Some notes:
• We'll be aiming for outdoor seating but will take the fun into taprooms if needed.

• Keep a keen eye on those pesky things called rain & t-storms. If needed, we'll reschedule.

• Dress accordingly!

• Bring water, snacks, whatever else as needed!
