In this series, we will focus on writing fiction, using your own life as a creative source. We'll look at flash fiction, short stories, and novel structure. Learn to tell a story—your story—in all it's creative possibilities. We'll use a wide variety of resource books, including Writing Flash Fiction: How to Write Very Short Stories and Get Them Published, and On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King. Try your hand at fiction, using your own imagination as inspiration.

You don't have to be a professional writer to join in. Use this class to jump-start your creativity, use writing as a tool of creative expression, and cultivate your unique voice in a supportive community.

In this semester-long class, we will facilitate an amazing process used by thousands of women across the country to develop their authentic voice through writing and community-building. We'll use prompts, poetry and prose to practice many different writing techniques.

WHEN: Starting September 7, 2016, 6-8:30 p.m., for 11 weeks
WHERE: 1610 Osceola Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204
