Come join us for a Technical and Career Panel discussion which includes senior leaders from the industry [BIO OF EACH LEADER BELOW]. The panel will be focused on big data and machine learning, they will discuss the technical challenges they face, some of their interesting work, they will also answer questions on how to enter this field of technology and what they look for in a candidate when they hire one!

Richa is an engineer with over 9 years of experience in the Software industry. She has worked in automotive, financial and retail spaces. Her expertise lies in distributed systems, Big Data and Machine Learning. She is currently employed at Nike (http://www.nike.com/us/en_us/) as a Sr. Software Engineering Manager. She is a supporter of inclusion in the tech industry and enjoys community services. She is also a Co-Director for Women Who Code, Portland (https://www.womenwhocode.com/portland). She loves traveling and has a personal goal of seeing at least one new country every year!

Kelly Hammond, Software Engineering Manager @Intel

Kelly Hammond is a Software Engineering Manager in the Open Source Technology Center, part of Intel Software and Services Group, and director of Stacks Engineering for Clear Linux. Her teams use Artificial Intelligence in areas such as robotics, where efforts like autonomous navigation require machine vision with object detection and recognition, as well as reinforcement learning for tasks like object grasping. She has a master’s degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in system design and management, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. Prior to Intel she worked at Northrup Grumman as a program manager and systems engineer for radar and satellite navigation systems.

Sherine Abdelhak, AI, Platform Architect @Intel

Sherine Abdelhak is a platform architect with Client Computing Group (CCG) in Modern Client Architecture team. Her focus is bringing novel usages to client platforms. Most recently, her focus has been on AI. Previously, she worked on platform power optimizations for mobile systems. Sherine received her M.S. and Ph.D. in computer engineering from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the area of distributed signal processing on resource-constrained devices. She has authored a dozen conference & journal publications. She has been the recipient of 4 Intel awards and holds 2 patents.
