Our 3rd Women in Blockchain meetup will be held in AIB bank on Grafton street!
If you would like to know about blockchain use cases or build your career in blockchain domain, this meetup event is for you :D
As speakers we'll have Nina Kanti and Niamh O'Connell!! ♥
First speaker ☆ Nina Kanti
Nina Kanti:
Nina has just graduated from B.Eng Electronic & Computer Engineering - Majoring in the Internet of Things (IoT). She has successfully completed an industry-sponsored Blockchain & IoT thesis exploring blockchains peer-to-peer capabilities to validate and transfer data for IoT devices. Working with novel technology excites her and through her efforts of working with distributed ledger technology, her thesis has been awarded "Most Innovative Project" presented by Openet. Shes currently the Lead Software Architect for Éirloop, the first Irish team taking part in Elon Musk’s SpaceX Hyperloop competition at the SpaceX HQ this July 2018. She's also the organiser and mentor for DCU Women in Engineering encouraging more women to take up a career in STEM - diversity within a team plays a key part in success and achievements.

DCU is a young, dynamic and ambitious university with a distinctive mission to transform lives and societies through education, research and innovation. In the last nine years, DCU has twice been named Sunday Times ‘University of the Year’. DCU is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of academic excellence with over 16000 students.
Nina will talk about:
She will mainly focus on her journey into blockchain and how she got interested in working with novel technology as a student. She will talk about IOTA, the distributed ledger technology, that her thesis was based on and how the build proof of concepts around it. She will mention the DCU Women in Engineering initiative the work they're doing to encourage more young women into STEM and just a brief mention of the Éirloop project which she is currently working on.
Second speaker ☆ Niamh O'Connell
Niamh O'Connell:
She has been consulting in the blockchain domain for the past three years'. Currently, Niamh works at the ConsenSys Dublin Innovation Studio, whom are focused on building ethereum enterprise solutions for governments and corporations. She is particularly passionate about blockchain technology and enjoys learning about how organisations and ecosystems can use the technology to improve how they exchange and interact with one another. One particular area of interest is supply chain and the use of blockchain for asset tracking.
ConsenSys:
ConsenSys is building the infrastructure, applications and practices for a decentralised world. The brooklyn based startup was established in 2014 by Joseph Lubin who is also the co-founder of Ethereum. The company is comprised of 850+ blockchain experts, entrepreneurs, computer scientists, designers, engineers, consultants and business leads across 6 continents.
