We are a community of women who are passionate about the power of technology to improve the relationship between people and government. Our mission is to amplify our efforts, share resources, learn from one another, educate others, celebrate wins, collaborate, mentor others, and bring leaders together to elevate the field of civic technology.
We envision a world where women are leading actors in making civic participation available to all.
What is Civic Tech?
The term is used widely, but we define it as the technologies used in the following ways:
Advocacy— technology used by individuals and organizations to increase awareness on issues and influence public policy.
Elections and Voting— technology used to improve the voting process and make it accurate, effective, efficient and accessible to all.
Open Gov Tech— technology used by governments for improving internal efficiency, delivery of services, as well as interacting with citizens and stakeholders. The goal of these technologies is to increase efficiency but also transparency in government.
