Simply responding to this MeetUp WILL NOT ensure a place in this class. If the class fills up and we have enough interest, we can schedule another session in late July or August.
Project Overview
This is a simple robot arm that has up/down and forward/backward movement, as well as a rotating base and a tiny gripper to pick up little objects. It utilizes an Arduino Uno to read the controller inputs and send commands to the motors.
The project will involve assembling the robot arm itself, soldering together the controller circuit, then programming and calibrating it. The code will be pre-written, but is also fairly basic if you would like to code it yourself from scratch.
Before the project build, we'll be offering a free Intro to Arduino class for anyone that would like to familiarize themselves with the Arduino. And if you've never soldered electronics before, we'll also have a bunch of practice components you can learn to solder with beforehand as well.
You can show up anytime after 11am if you're interested in the Arduino or Soldering activities. The Arduino class takes about an hour to complete all of the exercises, and learning how to solder takes about 20 to 30 minutes.
The event is set for 25 kits but people are welcome to work in pairs or groups too. The Lab can handle more than 25 people, We are just limited to 25 actual robot arms for this session.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, please message me through MeetUp or contact me via email (ahrager@gmail.com) or phone (303-802-7447)
Thanks!
