What we’re about

#YouEqualTech is a community and series of events aiming to drive inclusion in the tech industry by providing safe, fun opportunities for people to learn, connect and support one another.
If you’d like useful tips, articles and content delivered to your inbox monthly, sign up for our content here!
Launched after seven years of research on gender diversity in tech, between Spinks and Computer Weekly, #YouEqualTech appreciates diversity in all its forms.
Whether you’re working in tech already, or are thinking about making the move #YouEqualTech is for you.
We aim to:
•  Myth-bust outdated ideas of what a career in tech or digital looks like
•  Spread awareness of the various routes into technology and digital as a career
•  Help close the skills gap through the promotion of inclusion in tech
We focus on bringing brilliant people together to share stories and experiences of success and failure - as well as practical, actionable advice and career hacks.
The bonus is that we’re learning as we go along too!!
We’ve partnered with some incredible organisations who care about creating more inclusive cultures - including Shazam, Trainline, GoCardless and EY-Fast Growth.
We’ve looked at topics including, but not limited to; neurodiversity, the art of negotiation, confidence, bravery and boldness in decision-making, building inclusive cultures, data for good - and scaling companies that balance profit with purpose.
We’re in awe of the generosity of our incredible speakers, who join us to share (sometimes deeply personal) stories and practical ideas for how others might overcome challenges similar to those they’ve faced along the way.
It’s super important to us that everyone feels welcome at #YouEqualTech events, so please familiarise yourselves with our Code of Conduct: https://www.meetup.com/You-Equal-Tech/pages/26560603/Code_of_Conduct/
If you are interested in getting involved with #YouEqualTech, whether that’s by becoming a speaker, suggesting a partner host, blogging or submitting content, please get in touch (YouEqualTech@wearespinks.com).
