From ciphers to cybersecurity, encryption is all around us. We rely on digital security while we bank, shop, and communicate. At the core of that security lies encryption. As developers, we use some form of encryption in our work every day. We are likely storing or sending data online, implementing authentication protocols, or perhaps protecting our customer's payment information.

While some people spend years studying this subject, we will cover the basics: What is encryption? How does it work? Why does it matter? You can expect to come away with a solid understanding of the foundational concepts in encryption.
