Tech Fika: Mental Health and Wellness Series

Details

Join us for WWCode NYC’s Wellness Fika on Monday, November 15th, 2021 at 6pm. By definition, a fika is a break from activity during which people relax with others. Additionally, in our context, this is an open and safe space for discussing feelings, thoughts, and concerns organically. Topics will be focused on mental health and wellness, which are more important than ever, as we experience a pandemic and have been staying home for many months.

This time we are discussing burnout and how to “prevent” it. For those of us still working from home, it can be difficult to create a healthy work life balance when the place you work is the same as the place that you rest.

The intensity of work can often be higher as the year wraps up; Q4 is squeezed by holidays and vacations, yet we are sometimes still expected to get just as much work done. How do you cope? How do you find energy in the midst of the chaos? What ways do you manage your stress and what boundaries do you set for yourself? Jessica Stillman says, if you want to fix burnout, you have to find what causes it first. Check out the recommended reading below and join us for discussion!
