Details

Art-full Members (https://www.womenofculture.org/artfull-membership) are invited to journey back in time with us to the Middle Ages on Sunday October 3rd for a fall afternoon at the Cloisters, featuring an art talk with the Janelle Diethelm (aka, the Curious Art Historian (https://www.thecuriousarthistorian.com/)), brunch and time to enjoy beautiful Fort Tryon Park.

Nowhere else in the United States can you find the combination of such stunning examples of original medieval European architecture, exquisite gardens, and marvelous works of art. At the Cloisters, you will discover that the so-called “dark ages” were actually a bright period of innovation, imagination, and creativity — and over an outdoor* brunch at the Tryon Public House (http://www.tryonpublichouse.com/), Janelle will give us an introduction to this unique museum and its collection.

Anyone who attended our recent trip to the Frick, or our ‘Contemporary Art 101’ online events with Janelle knows just how chock-full of knowledge she is, and she will also be on-hand to provide insights as we explore the museum together. Continue the afternoon with a walk through beautiful Fort Tryon Park, featuring sweeping views of the Hudson River.

Entry to the Cloisters is pay-what-you-wish for NY residents, but all ticket options include 2pm reserved/timed entry to the museum with the group. Full experience tickets also include 1 brunch entree + coffee/tea or soda, and the art talk with Janelle.

Full experience with art talk & brunch: $55 through 9/26; $60 thereafter
Museum only (no talk or brunch): $5
