What we're about
The Women’s Artist Group of Bend is for women in the arts who want to further their creative careers and support women artists in the community. The group provides women in the arts with networking, professional development and exhibition opportunities. This group is for artists of all levels - newbies, aspiring creatives and professionals.
Two regularly scheduled events, Critique Night and the Artist Mentoring Group, make up the core of the Women's Artist Group of Bend. Critique night is scheduled every 6 weeks to give members an opportunity to share and receive feedback on their work. The Artist Mentoring Group (AMG) meets monthly to give members an opportunity to share ideas, support each other and brainstorm ways to help each other be more successful. In addition to these regularly scheduled events there will be opportunities to get together for First Friday or Last Saturday, participate in Open Studios, and much more!
The Women's Artist Group of Bend started in 2012 as the Young Women's Artist Group of Bend by Alisha Vernon. Lisa Marie Sipe took over as the group organizer in late 2014 and decided to shut down that meetup group to start this new one for women of all ages. The Women's Artist Group is currently organized by Lisa Marie Sipe and McKenzie Mendel.
