    What we're about

This is a group for women who love camping and adventure. Maybe you have never felt comfortable going camping with a bunch of guys. Maybe you want a break from kids, or maybe you just want another camping option with other adventurous women. Most of our camping will be tent camping until the fall. Let’s meet for camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, grilling, and fun. Here are the only requirements to attend the events: You must be a woman. You must be over 25 years old. You must bring your own equipment and food. You must be friendly and fun. :-)

    • Can I bring my husband/child on the camping trip?

This group is for women who are 25 years or older. Unfortunately, husbands, boyfriends, kids, grandkids, etc. would change it from a women’s camping group to a family centered camping group. That is not the purpose of this group.

    • Is there a cost for the group?

I am paying the Meetup fees, and I do not intend to charge any membership fees for belonging to this group. However, you will always need to reserve your own campsite. I will post where we will camp, but it is your responsibility to reserve and pay for your own campsite. Friendship and fun are the only things “included” for free. :-)

    • I’m not familiar with camping. Do I need to bring anything?

Yes. You need to bring all your own camping supplies. This is not a beginner’s camping group. Everyone is expected to supply her own camping gear and food/drinks. You must know how to set up your own tent. You are responsible for yourself on all trips.

    • Is this group open to anyone?

This group has a maximum number of 50 women. All women in the group should be active in the group and participate in at least one camping event per season. Inactive members will be removed from the group.

    • Will we do any wild camping?

Since most of us will be meeting each other for the first time, our camping events will be at state parks (at least for the first summer). This is for everyone’s safety.

    • How is membership determined?

I will host a series of "meet and greets" between March and May. By the end of May, members who did not participate in any of the meet and greets will be removed and will not have access to information regarding our planned summer camping trips. As this assures members will have a chance to meet each other prior to any camping trips, these meet and greets are for the safety of all members.
