• What we'll do We will meet with our dance leaders, Evelyn, Heather, Tati, Andi and Carrah, and a rolling speaker to broadcast music for dance and marching, on the steps of the Oakland Museum, as we did in 2018. Look for the LARGE bunch of balloons to identify our group. See you soon! Love, Heather The closest BART Station is Lake Merritt; last year, some of us took shared rides to the area, because transit was overloaded. Go early to BART, or take a shared ride, or bus. WE WILL GATHER TOGETHER ON THE OAKLAND MUSEUM STEPS (OAK STREET BETWEEN 10TH AND 11TH) AT 9:45, LOOK FOR OUR BALLOONS! THEN MOVE AS A GROUP (DANCING) TO JOIN THE RALLY AT LAKE MERRIT AMPHITHEATER. THE MARCH WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER THE RALLY, AND THE ENTIRE DEMONSTRATION WILL WALK AND DANCE THE ONE MILE TO FRANK OGAWA PLAZA. 9:45 meet Evelyn, Heather, Carah, Andi and Tati at above location then dance to LAKE MERRITT AMPHITHEATER 11:30 AM: March to Frank Ogawa Plaza We’ll sing, chant, dance and join women and their allies from across the East Bay and beyond. "The culture is so strong of genuine acceptance, genuine 'what you bring and who you are is who we love.' And I bask in that - I bask in creating that, and I bask in facilitating that, and I bask in receiving it." B~ "I let go of a lot of energy that no longer serves my mind during the whole dance. So at the end I just feel like wow, what an amazing experience. I feel lighter. I feel like a new person. I feel like I was on vacation or a retreat." L~ "It allows me to break through the superficial things of life and get to what is important to me. I want to feel the things that I'm feeling, I want to have space to let them out and to have space to express myself. I want to have space to listen and to hone in on the most important emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of my life in a place that has no judgment for doing that."
