Ahoy Sailors and lovers of all things wind and water!
This meet up group is a passion project with an intention to empower, enlighten and create joy for women who feel the pull of the amazing open water that is Lake Michigan. No experience necessary. Must be over 18 and physically able to board the boat and sign a liability waiver when you board the boat.
2021 will be a WAY BETTER year than 2020 for the obvious reason that we can do more sailing now that COVID restrictions are more relaxed. I will be posting sailing events for each month typically on Friday evenings.
Sign up for a sailing event as they come up. It is $50 per person per sail payable by Venmo at thejoyofsailingchicago or by cash on the day of the event. Remember to always dress based on the days weather and always wear sneakers or deck shoes (no sandals please). Life jackets are provided. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks. These are casual, fun sails! Lynda Stephens is your licensed Captain and on the sail to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
If you feel called to the open water for a more formal sailing program, then you may want to check out The Joy of Sailing Women's Sailing Club. The club does six sails a week including both pleasure and skills training sails. Membership in the club includes social events as well. You can find out all you need to know and become a member by going to www.thejoyofsailing.org.
Hope to sea you on the water soon!
Fair winds and calm seas until we meet again. Aum. Peace. Amen.
