Join us on the last Friday of every month from 10:00 am to 12:00pm at Center for Excellence, 3803-B Computer Drive, Suite 106, Raleigh, NC 27609. It is just south of 440 off of Six Forks Road.
This month we welcome Joseph Mills from Winston-Salem, NC. Joseph Mills has degrees in literature from the University of Chicago (B.A.), the University of New Mexico (M.A.), and the University of California-Davis (Ph.D). A faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, he holds the Susan Burress Wall Distinguished Professorship in the Humanities. His published work includes poetry, fiction, drama, and criticism. In addition to his most recent collection which we’re discussing at Wonderland Book Club, he has published three volumes of poetry with Press 53: Angels, Thieves, and Winemakers, Somewhere During the Spin Cycle and Love and Other Collisions. Joseph and his wife, Danielle Tarmey, are the authors of A Guide to North Carolina's Wineries (John F. Blair, Publisher). The second edition was released in 2007. Many of us read fiction like writers, so this group is especially attuned to aspiring writers who want to know more about the craft of writing. The books we chose are all available in paperback and can be found at the library in print or audio.
The Wonderland Book Club is sponsored by the North Carolina Writers' Network (NCWN) www.ncwriters.org
