Getting Started with the WP REST API
Hot off last month's Q&A where a lot of chatter happened around the REST API Aaron Rutley (https://twitter.com/AaronRutley) is going to walk us through it in a bit more detail, and hopefully answer the question, "why do I need this?".
Aaron Rutley (http://aaronrutley.com), a freelance WordPress Developer from Melbourne, Australia, who specalises in developing custom WordPress Themes & Plugins. Aaron is one of our co-organisers of the WordPress Melbourne Meetup Group and was a co-organiser of WordCamp Melbourne in 2013.
Q&A on bringing enterprise Project Management tools/processes into your workflow
Our friend Cath Hughes (https://twitter.com/PhaseCreative) from the Sydney meetup is in town. Cath, along with our own Dee Teal (https://twitter.com/thewebprincess) are going to do a 'panel of 2' around Project Management. It's a field Dee has been working in a lot of late, and Cath manages a team in her agency, and between the two of them, there's a lot that can be learned from the bigger companies that can be scaled into our own freelance businesses to make us more efficient. Come armed with questions... and maybe they can help you pull back some of those projects that just seem to drag on foreverrrr.
Dee Teal (https://thewebprincess.com) is a front end developer building bespoke sites for a wide range of enterprises and in recent times under contract to top quality WordPress agencies. Dee has been using WordPress exclusively since having had her mind blown with its possibilities at her first WordCamp in 2011. Since then she’s been a sold out advocate of WordPress meetups, WordCamps and the WordPress community as a whole.
Cath Hughes, often referring to herself as a WordPress Groupie, is a Sydney-based designer, WordPress consultant and WordPress tutor. She operates Phase Creative (https://www.phasecreative.com.au), a boutique WordPress agency specialising in bespoke WordPress design. She is an active member of the WordPress community here in Australia, and online.
