Knowledge into Action! WordCamp Santa Clarita Valley Accessibility Follow-Up

Details
We’ve scheduled this month’s hands-on event for the Saturday following the spectacular WordCamp Santa Clarita Valley 2021, which attracted several hundred attendees July 17 & 18, 2021. ( https://santaclarita.wordcamp.org/ )
Our purpose for this Meetup is to gather and share insights from WC SCV 2021's two-day Accessibility Track presentations. For example, there were awesome presentations about Accessibility from two bright lights in our galaxy (and this meetup group), Meryl Evans and Alicia St. Rose.
Let's compare notes, and do some live trying-out of new Accessibility tips and tricks and best practices offered by the awesome lineup of speakers!
We will have live captioning for this event.
If you have a WordPress website that you would like to test for Accessibility- or WordPress-related issues, we’ll take a look (time permitting); NO GUARANTEES, of course, that we’ll be able to include your site for testing or improve things with it. Still, this is a good chance to get a bunch of bright minds looking at your work and sharing possible solutions.
If you have questions, please ask right here in the comments (below), and you’re welcome to ask during our open question period at this event.
This would be a great Meetup event to join if:
✅ you attended WordCamp Santa Clarita Valley and want to geek out with others on what you’ve learned or have questions about applying what you’ve learned to your own WordPress websites, or
✅ you couldn’t make it to the WordCamp Santa Clarita Valley, and you want to hear others’ feedback on the Accessibility track so you can prioritize your watch list when the presentations are up online, and/or
✅ you know your way around WordPress and Accessibility, and look forward to contributing to the community, and/or,
✅ you love learning about WordPress and Accessibility in a fun and supportive community! 😀
======
Who should attend?
Our meetup is inclusive. This event is for people who love WordPress and Accessibility and want to share their knowledge, experience, and to meet other WordPress users in the area. Both experienced and beginner WordPress designers and developers are encouraged to attend and participate.
We do have a few rules.
In line with the mission of WordPress, our meetup was established in keeping with the 5 Good Faith Rules on Make WordPress (https://bit.ly/GoodFaithRules). Also please check our Code of Conduct (https://bit.ly/2ZGhtnG). We’re a friendly bunch, creating a friendly, nurturing and encouraging environment to talk WordPress.
NO Sales pitches of your products or services to the group. NO pitches of any product that you receive a kickback or commission.
No legal discussion or advice, unless you are a practicing civil rights or disability rights attorney and not just playing one on TV . . .
There are a lot of smart people in this group who show up ready to help and answer beginner and advanced topics alike. We encourage everyone to lend their voice to the conversation, but even if you know all the answers, please let others contribute as well.
NOTE: We want to limit this Meetup to 30 participants, so join soon . . . and also please update your RSVP if you later find that you cannot attend.
We do not endorse any specific product we may introduce. Our intention is only to educate.
