The WordPress Polyglots team is organizing the second Global WordPress Translation Day (https://wptranslationday.org/) on November 12th. Everyone is invited to join – from anywhere in the world!

Translating is one of the easiest ways to get involved with WordPress and contribute to the project. Global WordPress Translation Day is your chance to learn more about translating WordPress, meet people from all over the world, and translate WordPress into one of more than 160 languages (https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams).

The translation day starts on Saturday, November 12th, 2016, at 0:00 UTC and ends 24 hours later. That means there will be 24 hours of livestream all about internationalization and localization in WordPress.

We're aiming to organize a local contributor day in Zurich in addition to that!

Who’s it for?

Whether you want to learn how to translate, you’re learning about internationalization, or want to find more translators for your themes and plugins, the translation day is for you. There’s a session for everyone!

Get Involved

Joining is easy! On November 12th, in your own timezone, translate WordPress (https://translate.wordpress.org/) or your favorite plugins and themes into your language, while watching live sessions over the course of the day.

Local Contributor Day in Zurich

In Zurich, we want to introduce users and developers alike to internationalization (making code translatable) and localization (actually translating things) in WordPress.

At the beginning there will be short workshops to get everyone going. After that, you can jump right into coding or translating all things WordPress. Some examples of what you could do:

• Make your plugin or theme translatable

• Translate WordPress itself into a language of your choice

• Translate a plugin or theme

• Add subtitles to videos on WordPress.tv

• Learn about new internationalization features in WordPress 4.7

• Watch the livestream :-)
