WordPress community talks and brainstorm

Details
The WordPress community is a big part of what makes WordPress so awesome. So this month's WordUp is going to have a community theme to it.
In the usual WordPress community style: everyone is welcome. There will be pizza and drinks so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you RSVP.
The schedule:
WordCamp Europe recap – Laura Nelson
WordCamps are WordPress conferences that happen all over the world. They're organised by WordPress users just like you.
Last weekend, WordCamp Europe gathered 1,900 people together to learn, share and celebrate WordPress in Paris.
Laura Nelson will give an overview of what happened at WordCamp Europe (https://2017.europe.wordcamp.org/). Were you there too? Feel free to share your own experience of the event, as we all saw different talks, met different people and attended numerous different parties!!
How to build a successful community – Phil Ward
Phil has been involved in a number of community and volunteer-led organisations. Currently sitting on the executive committee of Hove Rugby Club, he was also an officer of Warwick Students Union during his time at university there. Involved in both big and small projects, almost exclusively delivered by volunteer staff, he has a detailed knowledge of engaging volunteers as well as the wider community.
This talk will explore the recruitment and retention of volunteers in a community organisation as well as a couple of important lessons he’s learned.
WordCamp Brighton 2017 brainstorm – all of us!
In August, we're holding a WordCamp right here in Brighton (although with 200 people, rather than 1,900!)
This will be an open brainstorm to gather all your ideas for WordCamp Brighton (https://2017.brighton.wordcamp.org/). WordCamps are about showcasing our local WordPress community – that means you! So with just under 2 months until the event, we want to make sure we've given you plenty of opportunities to add your input. Let's make an awesome WordCamp together.
See you there!
