Using PayPal can get expensive, especially for lower cost transactions. Two local companies have developed WordPress plugins that easily allow you to take payments from your website visitors without using PayPal.

This session is for all levels of WordPress users, and for bloggers. We will be hosting a Genius bar at the meetup, so bring your questions.

MuCash ( is a micro-payment platform for WordPress sites, built to handle transactions of as little as a penny. Their platform can be integrated into any site that uses WordPress by installing the MuCash plugin. Their platform allows you to charge for viewing a post, or accepting donations, which can be associated with comments left by your readers on your blog. They are currently launching their initial product and actively seeking bloggers that wish to try it out.

WIDGETPAY ( lets you accept credit card payments on your blog or web site with no programming required. You can use to accept payment for anything: physical goods, services, digital media like software or ebooks, and even donations and contributions are ok. Recurring billing is built-in, and there are no limits to the amounts you can accept."

Zemanta (, the bloggers best friend, is graciously sponsoring this meetup by providing Pizza and soda for everyone. You can learn more about Zemanta here (, and watch their presentation at our Meetup on April 12 at WPNYC.ORG (

We will also be hosting a WordPress Genius bar at this event. Bring your questions, comments, concerns, and we'll try to help you resolve.

Due to security restrictions, registration for the event will close on June 20 at noon... one day before the event. You must pay in advance via Paypal. No payments will be accepted at the door. You must provide a photo ID, to gain entrance.
