What we're about

This is a group for people who are either currently working in, or aspire to work in sustainable technology.

We will be discussing how to make the transition into the sustainability sector, the challenges we face, the successes we've had and positive impact we have created.

We aim to cover all areas of sustainable technology, from energy, food, water, transport, agriculture and many more.

Our Meetups will take the form of short presentations by people currently working in the sustainable technology sector, and sharing their career journey.

Followed by a breakout into 2-3 smaller groups to discuss topics of the group's choice.

There will also be 30 minutes for networking at the end of the session.

So if you have an interesting sustainability story to share. Or if you aspire to move into the world of sustainable technology and would like some inspiration or advice, then this is the place to come!

Circular Economy

Link visible for attendees

A circular economy is "a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible". This is something that we hope aligns with us all as people who work, or are hoping to work, in the sustainable tech sector.

This month we'll explore the skills, tools and job opportunities within the circular economy sector with sustainable tech companies who are using technology to promote circularity. We have two fantastic speakers who will provide insight from their point of view, followed by breakout sessions, where you'll get the chance to speak directly with our experts. If we have time, we'll finish with some general networking.

Speaker 1: Kim McCann, Engineering Lead at Reath
Reath is the data-powered reusable packaging tracking platform. Their easy-to-use software helps businesses launch and scale reusable packaging systems that engage customers, improve ESG results, and generate return on investment.

Speaker 2: Kate Walmsley, Co-founder at Tern Eco
Tern is on a mission to make it easy for retailers of any size to participate in the circular economy through trade-in. Their launch product is a plug and play ecommerce app, built for Shopify, that enables customers to trade-in previously purchased goods (or packaging) for store credit.
