What we're about

Are you developing songs, a song, a piece of a song? Whether you're a Dylan, an undiscovered talent, or just a person, here's a chance to create in the safe environment of others. There's always an inner voice to catch, to hold, and to put in your pocket for another day.

Welcome muses!!! We are designed to be a collective. No teacher, coach, or expert, though several of us may be very, very good at this. Here's the plan. Every other week I'll aim to give you some prompts in the comments section below. Use these to get your creative juices flowing, create a song, or just ignore. We'll begin each session with an introductory go 'round, nice and brief. If you're presenting, bring your song, partial song, lyric, or musical phrasing. You will be asked to post your lyrics, if any, to the chat window. Tell us what you want us to listen for. Your presentation can be played live, recorded or spoken. After you present we will go around and give you nice and insightful feedback. Our comments will be pithy and short, always nice. We will run til all who've wanted to present get a chance to. That means, you know, keep it brief. As host, I might gently cut you off. We'll end with a brief go-round. As to me, us ... this is a collective. I am a facilitator by nature and practice. If I get outa line, whack me (virtually). Here's to seeing you on Zoom. Steve PS., Oh, about that photo. No this isn't a dance meetup. It's about the first time, at a 7th grade school dance, my classmates and I heard a very special song by a very special group at a very special moment in history. (Hint, it was late 1963).
