Readings and Critiques
Bring 5-7 pages (double-spaced, 1" margins, Times New Roman size 12 font) of your current masterpiece, plus extra copies to share with the group. Pieces will will be read in order of arrival. (So if you want to read early, get there early!), All members have the choice to read their own work aloud, or have someone else read it for him/her. Afterwards, we will go around the room and give 1-2 minute verbal critiques of the work that's been read. Additional notes especially grammar and spelling corrections can be marked on the manuscript which will be returned to the author. Always remember to be positive, aim for constructive criticism and tailor your comments to be considerate of the author's needs. Shela's House Rules • People are welcome to bring food to share, but no alcohol is allowed. • If members want to bring their own tea or coffee, that's fine as long as the drinks are in covered or closed containers - that's to reduce the risk of spills and staining the dining room rug.
