At this meetup, Matthew Buttler will share his insights on auditing documentation, and Andrew Johnston will tell the story of developing the API documentation style guide at Shopify.
Matthew Buttler is a web developer and technical writer living in Ottawa, Canada. He’s worked extensively with various web technologies, frameworks, and languages. He’s written and developed for SaaS companies and Cloud Hosting companies and was a main stage presenter at Write the Docs Portland in 2017.
Andrew Johnston is an API technical writer working at Shopify in Ottawa with over 10 years of experience. Andrew got his start in tech at a Montreal startup as employee number 5 and helped grow that company to over 75 people. Andrew moved on to a freelancer role documenting web APIs for 2 years, an experience that led to his current role at Shopify. Andrew presented at the first edition of API the Docs in London, England about documenting GraphQL.
