Collaborating with UX Designers

Details
User experience design (UXD) is increasingly a part of how companies make useful, enjoyable software. UXD centers the development process around the user's experience--not unlike how technical writers strive to write documentation that helps users complete tasks successfully. The two roles have a great deal in common: priorities, methodologies, expertise, and more.
Lisa Gay has spent almost half of her dozen years in technical writing working in partnership with UX designers. In this presentation, she'll talk about her experiences, how it changed her writing, and what it was like to witness a company's evolution from a data-centric product development process toward a user-centric one.
