This is an all-day workshop aiming to empower technologists* of marginalized genders with the skills needed to establish themselves as leaders in the tech community!

*We define 'technologist' as anyone who has written a line of code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, SQL) and can explain what it does. Designers, E-book publishers, Salesforce Admins, beginners and engineers with 20 years experience have all enjoyed our workshops and been inspired by each other.

Want to learn how to own your expertise and present yourself and your accomplishments with confidence? Convert your expertise into thought leadership, conference speaking, and open source contributing.

The workshop will help you think more expansively about your knowledge and experience, laying the foundation for you to become a blogger, conference speaker, and open source contributor.

Throughout the day you'll go through a number of exercises covering the theme, "Speak Your Truth". Through these exercises you'll generate a list of topics you can write or speak about, learn how to present yourself as an expert, and be introduced to contributing to open source projects.

Attendees will leave the workshop with a newly minted bio, a clear understanding of their own expertise, access to the larger Write/Speak/Code online community and either a blog post to publish, a talk to present, or an open pull request to an open source project. We will also have new exercises for those who have previously attended!

We are providing breakfast/lunch/snack for all dietary needs, nursing rooms, and our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We will also provide childcare services, CART/ASL services, and any other accessibility needs - tell us on the registration form or let us know at info@writespeakcode.com
