This month we're meeting at a new location in Northwest Austin.
6433 Champion Grandview, Bldg 1
Austin, TX 78750
We're excited to welcome Renisha Nellums, a QA Engineer at Indeed to talk about how to promote documentation creation using PR-like campaigns!
Hope you can join us!
Why your team needs a PR Campaign
After hearing multiple instances of “I don’t know what you or your team does”, I knew the QA Automation team needed to clearly communicate our value to the company and use a multifaceted approach to build our reputation.
We needed to:
- Decide who were were
- Decide how we wanted the company to view us
- Figure out how we get there
In short, we needed a PR campaign. Given the highly distributed nature of the team, we relied primarily on documentation, encouraged by pleading, incentives, and flattery. Some methods were more successful than others. Come hear the strategies we’ve tried, like creating a mission, investigative journalism, and interviewing the challenges we’ve faced, and the progress we’ve made so far.
This is still a very young campaign, started in early 2018. I look forward to hearing your stories and tips on how you’ve encouraged those around you write documentation and enjoy it!
