What we're about
Come join a group of fellow writers to collaborate, critique and create together at Meridian Library. We'll read some professional work, share our own writing and hear from local authors about the unique experience of creative writers today.
If you'd like to join our email list or have questions, please email: email@example.com
Information about our Meetup: We will be meeting regularly on every Wednesday, using a rotating schedule as follows:
1st Wednesday of the Month: Prompts and Guided Writing - 1 hour
Come prepared to write, and use creative thinking to work on writing prompts. While participation in them is not always required, there will often be group writing prompts.
2nd Wednesday of the Month: Workshopping - 1.5-2 hrs. ***registration required*
You have the opportunity to get your writing workshopped by other patrons in the group. (No more than 10 pages double spaced.) No requirements on the type of writing or style, but guidelines will be followed on the workshop itself.
Workshop pieces will be selected from the group during the first Wednesday of the month, and must be sent in a minimum of 1 week in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org so that they can be distributed to group members.
3rd Wednesday of the Month: Writer's Bloc presents: Author Series
Join us in welcoming a wide array of authors of all times as they speak on their experiences with writing, publishing, and the writer's life! Topics vary by author, and a new author is welcomed each month. Please contact us if you are interested in a local author, or if you are a local author who would like to participate.
4th Wednesday of the Month: Open Write - 1 hour
You have the opportunity to do whatever you would like during this hour of writing time! Suggestions include: timed free write, partnered workshop, group discussion of a topic not covered earlier in the month, etc.
5th Wednesday of the Month: Special Events - 1-2 hours
See event description for details.
