Hi everyone,
The Creative Writer' Meetup is for anyone interested in meeting and practising creative writing. Whether it’s for a personal project or to brush up on writing for work, we welcome all levels and backgrounds. Each session you can expect to do some writing exercises and read out your work to the group, but there is no pressure to do so. There is free tea and coffee and we have special guest speaker events every so often (when we are meeting in the Ellen Melville Centre)

We meet at the Ellen Melville Centre (EMC - see map below) AND online (see the link). Just come along at 12.00pm or click on the link.
Our key message is, as always, back yourself, and try writing something on the topics that we provide.
We usually write something for 5 minutes, using 6 words out of a group of 8 words that you will be given. That sounds daunting, but something always comes
Then, we have 2 exercises based on a common situation or an experience for you to write about.
We have the option of reading our work to each other, but there is no pressure at all to do so. You are very welcome just to listen to others. You can join with video off and muted, and no one will ask you to turn the camera on.
It can be a bit daunting coming to creative writing, but we are a friendly bunch
