What genre(s) of writing are you interested in?

1 hour drama and Feature Thrillers. But with both of these genres I feel they can't be their strongest unless there are strong moments of comedy. The best dramas expose and dive into the human condition, it's hard to do that with out hints of comedy. For me, the same goes for Thrillers. laughter is a release of tension, and I love to see those moments balance out thrills and the suspense.

What's your writing experience (e.g. beginner, advanced)?

Intermediate. After completing my graduate and undergraduate degree, and actually making a quarter-finalist cut in the Final Draft Big Break contest last year I feel like I can call myself one step above "beginner." Though it's hard to judge. I'll always feel like the new kid in class until the work comes with a little bit of pay.

What are you hoping to get from this group?

Los Angeles is a crazy town. Expanding your social network is hard once you leave your school days behind. Good conversation about story, writing and reading is hard to come by here. Being able to meet new people with common interests would be an incredible perk.

Aspiring Television writer currently working in TV production. A Northern California native, I traveled to film school in Montana, and went on to do my Masters after that. I've wanted to be writer since I was 13, at nearly 30 it's a work in progress.
