Writing Workshop & Critique
Come ready to learn some tips and techniques for improving and marketing your writing. From 6:30 to about 7:00, we will have a mini-lesson about an aspect of writing - fiction, nonfiction, poetry, journalism, publishing, you name it. From 7:00 until about 8:30, we will share about 1000 words from what ever we are currently working on - novel, short story, article... We critique - not criticize - each other's writing in order to improve and build on what we already know. We meet the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. This week's mini-lesson will be on: The role of gender in protagonists and antagonists (in honor of Sadie Hawkins Day)

What we're about

Writers at Unity is a critique group as well as a workshop for writers of all abilities and goals - published, not yet published, never want to be published, and everywhere in between. We are based at the Unity in the Grove Church. Participants must be 18 years or older. The acceptable range of writing endeavors spans all genres, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, song, prose -- all creative pieces, but excludes anything of a graphic nature (sex, violence, language).
We will meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The first 30 minutes will be a mini-lesson, followed by sharing of individual works for purposes of improvement and enjoyment.
