Orlando Word Lab

Details
This is a writing workshop that will focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.
We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others, and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, or notebook and pen and a willingness to learn.
We will meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
This month, we'll be studying Prose Poems + Poets with Nikki Fragala Barnes. In this workshop session, you will be introduced to a variety of prose poems and poets. You’ll have fun seeing what’s possible in the intersectional world of lyric writing in sentence form. Your facilitator, Nikki Fragala Barnes, will lead participants through a selection of works as you become more familiar with this expanding field. During the workshop segment, we will experiment together in a writer’s sandbox to generate your own prose poem/s.
