May XCake

Details

Hi folks,

UPDATE:
Fortunately Google is ready to host us on Thur, May 10, so for the first time, we're moving meetup from 2nd Tue to 2nd Thur. I'm very sorry for the late notice but I got a confirmation from Google on late Monday.

IMPORTANT: Please RSVP by Wed 6pm. I need to send a guest list to Google 24h in advance.

We have two talks for the May 10.

Eugene Kazaev will talk about the way Gilt serves a view controller’s composition and routing in the app for the last 5 years. The library was rewritten from scratch in Swift 4.1 and subsequently open sourced. This library will allow you to concentrate on the development of each view controller, independently. It will also give you an opportunity to navigate to any part of your app using universal links without the need for further implementation.

And I will do a short intro into server-side Swift with Vapor 3.0

After talks, we'll move to The Gasworks pub to have some beverages and chat about all things Appley.

Original post:

Xcake is looking for a May venue.

It seems like our alma mater, Science Gallery, won't be able to accommodate us for some, rather long, time. Our good friends from Phorest stepped in this time again but unfortunately, 2nd Tue of May (May 8) isn't good for them. So we're homeless again.

If anyone is able to host Xcake (20-30 people) Tuesday, May 8, please contact me by answering this email.

We're also looking for a speaker. We have one speaker for May meetup with talk about new Swift 4.1 library to handle a view controller’s composition and routing in the app. If you would like to have a talk about tools or frameworks you're using, application design or development or simply announce your new app and tell us your developer's story - we'd love to host you.

Alexey.
