Join us on Thursday, March 1 at 7pm to learn a bit about how humanitarian organizations are coming up with different ideas that may or may not involve technology to help people in vulnerable situations around the world.
During this meetup we will explore a few examples of what has been and is being done, learn about challenges and solutions, and maybe, who knows, you'll come up with a project!
We're first going to understand what "innovation" actually means in the humanitarian context. Then, we're going to dive into examples, such as the now famous Ikea-UNHCR refugee tent, and try to understand how they came up with the idea in the first place.
Our lab manager, Jade, is also going to share what she saw and what she learned from her previous experiences working at the UN and the Red Cross. ///////////////////////
***This is NOT a workshop or a lecture - just a bunch of people interested in the topic who want to talk about it and maybe come up with a project, so don't be shy and don't worry if you don't know a thing about it! We will figure it out together.
***About the costs of projects: Sadly Xinfab does not have funds to fund projects. The group splits the costs among its participants. Or if you're going to make something for yourself, its cost is on you.
